We pride ourselves on serving a range of delicious, seasonal British food and drink. Our lunch menu offers a selection of snacks to suit those who are just passing through and more substantial dishes for those who have the time to linger over lunch. In the evenings you’re welcome to join us for a three course meal or a lighter bite. Take a look at our example menu for a taste of what to expect.

Our menu includes children’s meals and vegetarian options. We can also provide gluten-free dishes on request.
All our food is freshly prepared by our chef, Johnnie Forbes. Johnnie is Marco Pierre White trained and has worked with many famous chefs including Gordon Ramsay and Pierre Koffmann. He brings his classical training to the fore in creating great pub dishes with a fresh, modern twist.
Inside and out
You can eat in our bar areas or restaurant and, in the warmer months, you’re always welcome to enjoy a relaxed meal in our beer garden. In the winter we’ll have two log fires blazing to keep you cosy and provide the perfect spot for an after dinner tipple.
If you’re walking, cycling or simply planning a day out then you’re welcome to order a packed lunch from us (please let us know the day before) and we offer free water bottle refills at the bar. And there are ample water bowls inside and outside for our four-legged guests.
Proud to be local
Where possible we use local suppliers to ensure that our food is tasty and fresh, for example we source vegetables from our local organic farm.
Behind the bar we also have a local focus, serving Harveys and Larkins ales, alongside a range of national and international drinks.
