The Anchor Inn is a family-friendly pub in the beautiful village of Hartfield, nestling in the heart of Winnie-the-Pooh country. Located in a fabulous 15th century manor house, the Anchor Inn has been at the hub of the community since it was first opened as a pub in 1861.
Our popular front bar is a lively venue for a drink or bar snack, while more intimate surroundings can be found in our back bar and library area. In the summertime our beautifully kept garden allows guests to enjoy their food and drink in the sunshine. And we have a spacious restaurant for more formal dining.
A family welcome
Children and dogs on leads are welcome at the Anchor Inn, in fact well behaved dogs may receive a little something from the treat jar on the bar! We’re sorry, but dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant, however you’re very welcome to eat in the bar areas or beer garden instead.
We have a store of board games and colouring to keep the children entertained and we’re conveniently situated opposite the local playground if your little ones need to burn off some energy.
With four comfortable guest rooms the Anchor Inn is also the perfect base for exploring the local area.
