Local Attractions

Hartfield is a village and parish on the northern edge of Ashdown Forest, midway between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells on the B2110. There are many local attractions near to the village including Hever Castle, Groombridge Place and Lingfield Racecourse.

The village of Hartfield itself was the setting of the Winnie-the-Pooh books and Cotchford Farm in Upper Hartfield was the home of the author AA Milne and later Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones.

If you're keen on outside activities then Hartfield is the perfect base. Not only is it a stone’s throw from Ashdown Forest but there is also a disused railway line (the Three Bridges to Tunbridge Wells Central Line, also known as the Forest Way or National Cycle Route 21) which is used by cyclists, walkers and runners alike. If you're a golfer then you need look no further than Sweetwoods Park Golf Club and Holtye Golf Club.
